Art of War

  • Art of War #70
For some time now I have struggled with the juxtaposition of art and war. Sometimes a stark black and white photo isn't enough of a dramatization of war. I believe that the effects of war and conflict become more dramatic when juxtaposed with something beautiful. It is more of a reminder that with death and destruction we forever lose the beauty that is life. Is there life after death? Perhaps, but I can imagine nothing more beautiful than what I witness on this planet. I, for one, would rather spend my moments living a beautiful life just in case the end is really the end. Each image in the series will have a different look, dependent wholly upon my emotions at the time of creation. No image is meant to malign the victims, but rather bring a new perspective on the constant cycle of destruction by humankind.

The Bush Regime Theme

The Bush regime theme

by Hokato Eastman

what should I do today
I think I'll go and play
with my army far away
in a country where "terrorists" might stay
with their natural resources we'll make them pay
those evil "terrorists" better pray

we'll drop "smart" bombs that only kill
the wicked "terrorists" who wish us ill
and maybe some kids but don't worry
just chill
it is, after all, our mighty god's will

yes, god made us do it
he sent us to war
to spread our religion from shore to shore
and to liberate people from the oil and ore
we're already rich but could always use more
those people won't miss it. they've always been poor

so phuck em and bomb em and blow em away
it's what god intended anyway
a perfect plan, revealed only to me
white man's  MANIFEST DESTINY

so smash them and bash them and bomb them to bits
murder and mayhem means money you twits
we'll kick the ass of those "terrorists"
they'll be "shocked and awed"
and unable to resist

they'll embrace our beliefs without looking behind
if we can't win their hearts
we'll conquer their minds
and when history looks back
what will it find?
whatever the U.S. decides to define

heroic battles were waged in the East
the bald eagle soared up
and conquered the beast
the evil "terrorists" suffered bitter defeat
and we made a trillion  dollars at the same time
peace
